Happy Thanksgiving

Brett and I had two Thanksgivings this year. My parents came over to our house the weekend before Thanksgiving. We had a lot of family over and it was a lot of fun. It was the first turkey that Brett and I made together and I thought it turned out pretty good.

In this picture there is my Uncle Kenny, Makenna, me, Kylah (my niece), Melanie, Uncle Keith, Britney (my cousin), Madyson, and Kyra. Everyone else had to eat in the living room. We don't quite have a big enough table to hold us all.

Makenna Turns 9

I am a little late on this post because her birthday was October 22. But I just received the pictures tonight, so I thought I would put them on. For her birthday party she took a couple friends to Wonderland. There are a couple of pictures of her at the Go Cart Raing. The others were her just being goofy while she was opening birthday presents.

There were the presents from Grandma Gloria. She loves her little Kitties. She named these Mini

Kitchen Renovation...

..Well kind of. We moved into this house last March and one of the reasons I loved it so much was because of the huge kitchen and bathroom. However, the kitchen was the ugliest color green you could possibly imagine. The cupboards and tile was all a dark green. And then for the walls and ceiling, it looked like they took some white paint and then mixed it with the green paint to make a very very light green color. So the kitchen was my first thing on my to do list to fix up the house. It has taken a little bit longer than expected, but I am finally making progress. It is amazing what a couple gallons of paint can do to a room. I figured it now looks good enough to show my friends on the blog. I still have a lot of little detail stuff to do, but I am just happy it is not dark green any more. And I am happy to say that I did this all on my own. Brett helped hammer in a couple of nails, but that was it. So we have practically all of the downstairs done. Now all that is left is our bedroom.

I am showing you the before pictures first:

There is Gloria (Brett's mom)

This is Pat (Brett's dad). These were taken in December, before Brett moved into the house.

Yes, I know we still do not have cupboard doors, but I have gotten used to it and actually like it now.

Well that is it. I still want to get new countertops but that is not going to happen for quite a while.

Fall Pictures

Even though the girls threw a big fit, I got some fall pictures of everyone. These are really the only pictures my mom was able to take becuase nobody was cooperating, but they turned out great. Thank you mom for making a special trip up here. I love you.

Happy Halloween

Do you think that I could have got one good picture of the girls on Halloween?? Oh no. I have two step daughters that hate having their picture taken. I can't imagine them growing up in my house, where any minor event required a camera. It is like torture to them. Well Kyra was a bumble bee and Makenna was a dollie. They both looked really cute. They started out their night by going trick or treating at the mall with their mom. Then Brett and I took them over to Jen's nieghborhood, since ours is not exactly the kind you want your kids walking around in at night time. It was a lot of fun to watch Makenna running from door to door while Kyra walked behind. They got way too much candy that they will never be able to finish. After wards we went to Jen and Joel's for dessert and games. It was a really great night.

Not much else has been going on in our life. Brett did get a new job which we are all VERY happy about. His old job was just stressing him out and putting way too much pressure on him for them amount they paid him. He is excited about who he is going to be working for and what they are going to be doing. I am very happy and proud of him.

Craft Night!

Since all of our lives are getting so busy it is getting hard to find time to hang out with all of my girlfriends. So we all decided that we would get together a couple Wednesday nights a week for a craft night. Our first one was this last Wednesday and it was tons of fun. We had Kim, Bev, Camille, Beth, Rhonda, and I all meet over at Jen's house to make a board for us to hang christmas stockings. It was just like those old Cheney days. It was all Jen's idea and she did a great job of teaching us all. She got and cut the boards and Joel sanded them down for us. They all turned out really cute. I was even impressed with myself. I felt like a really crafty mormon mom. Here are a couple pictures from our fun girls night.

Happy Birthday Brett

Yes, Brett is getting up there (32)! It's hard to believe because he still acts like a kid all the time. We didn't do anything special for his birthday because it was on a Sunday. I made him a wonderful dinner and texas sheet cake. Then we opened some presents and of course he loved them. Here are some pictures of him and the girls opening his presents. They wanted him to do it early in the morning before we went to church because they were so excited.

My Wonderful Class

I just thought everyone might want to know about my wonderful Kindergarten class. School is going really well. Both of my classes are doing great now, although it didn't start out that way at all. Here are a couple pictures of them. One was during fire prevention week. Then other one was on Halloween. It was so fun to see all of the little kids dressed up in their costumes!
